Study Abroad Experiences
A few of my friends did study abroad programs in college. If I could have done anything different in college, that’s the one thing that I would have done. I’m not really sure why I didn’t, but everything I’ve heard about peoples’ experiences has been amazing. They learned to speak different languages, got to see the world, and were able to experience cultures that were so amazing.
My good friend who went to Sweden last fall still brings up stories about her experience there very frequently. I have learned so much about Swedish culture just from talking to her. She tells me about how the colleges there are referred to as the Uni and about how the weather, culture, and food is different than in the U.S. Being immersed in a culture while studying abroad for a semester, or sometimes longer, is a life experience that I wish that I had taken advantage of.
