Science Experience
The elementary school I worked at last year was just introducing an after-school science program when I was leaving. The children had the option of staying after school and attending a science lesson once a week. I was thrilled that the school was supporting this because I saw that the kids were having hard time understanding the science projects that I was presenting to them at that time. The projects were easy enough, but the children didn’t seem to have a lot of experience with science.
After the kids started doing these labs through the science program, they became much more interested in my projects! I think it is so important it get children into science-related activities when they are young so that they can foster the interest and enjoy it when they are older. There seems to be an absence of good science education in some regions, and with a lot of the job market involving science-related careers these days, there is no better time to start.
