Personal Care Habits
One of the things I currently struggle with in keeping myself healthy is getting a good amount of sleep. This is hard when you have to study at night for a big exam in the morning, have children that keep you up until all hours of the night, or if you want to go out and socialize after a long week. I have a history of sleep issues and sometimes find it hard to sleep at all, let alone get a full eight-hour session. Good personal care includes making sure you eat healthy, drink plenty of water, and get at least eight hours of sleep every night. So, in order to maintain good personal care habits, sometimes I forgo going out, I try to study in the morning instead of the evening, and I’ll drop my children off for a sleepover at my parents house if they feel up to it. That way, I know I’ll get the sleep I need to be the best parent I can be.
Experts say that choosing a sleep schedule and sticking to it is a good way to get the sleep you need. For example, try to go to bed at the same time every night and get into a routine before bed. I like to read a book. Reading helps me wind down after a long day and it gets my body ready for sleep. I also wake up at the same time every morning, even on days when I want to sleep in.
