Help Yourself Succeed

Saturday, February 2nd, 2002

Online education may sound great and seem to help you receive an education, but for many people it is very difficult to manage. No one is going to know when you fall behind on your readings or if you do not complete the suggested homework problems. In other words, online education is the best for self-motivators, although many people can succeed who are not the best in that subject.

In order to succeed you need to think of online classes like you would any other class and stay caught up. What works best is if you set aside an hour and a half twice a week or an hour three times a week for “class-time” where you learn the material for the week. That is just the beginning though, and you still need to study in order to retain the information. It is very easy not to even think about an online class until the day before a test or an assignment is due, but in order for you to really get a lot out of an online class, you should treat it similar to a normal class, with set class hours and study time.
